Sami Barnett (Interboro) scored five goals and Trisha Baud (West Deptford) added a hat trick to lead No. 14 West Chester to a 16-3 victory over visiting Seton Hill on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
West Chester (7-0, 2-0 PSAC) limited Seton Hill (2-5, 1-2) to just one goal in the contest until the final five minutes of the game when the Griffins potted the final two tallies to remain unbeaten on the season.
Barnett finished with six points, adding an assist to her goal-scoring numbers. Tatum Altman scored two goals and picked up one assist to finish with three points. The Golden Rams scored 16 of the game’s first 17 goals to take control of the match early on.
West Chester held a 14-8 advantage in draw controls, winning 11 of 13 draws in the first half. The Golden Rams had strung together 15 straight draws, dating back to the second half of its game against Slippery Rock, before Seton Hill secured the ball on a draw to break the string. West Chester also forced Seton Hill into 20 turnovers on the afternoon and limited the Griffins to just 11 shots.
Nicole Martins (Saucon Valley) improved to 4-0 on the year with the win in the cage. She played the first half and made three saves. Julianne Clemens (Springfield-DELCO) played the second half and made five saves.
Division III
Arcadia 15, Misericordia 13
Senior Allegra Benites scored six points as Arcadia (4-2) won a back and fourth game against Misericordia.
Muhlenberg 19, Bryn Mawr 4
Fourteen different players recorded points for the Mules (4-2, 1-0). Leading the way was senior Jordy Bonvini, who scored five goals on six shots for her 24th career hat trick. The five points moved her into a tie for 10th place on the program’s all-time list with 181 for her career.
Delaware Valley 14, Wesley 12
The Aggies knocked Wesley from the unbeaten ranks and remained perfect at home this season thanks to a non-conference victory.
DelVal improved its record to 4-2 on the season, including a 3-0 mark at home. The Wolverines fell to 5-1.
Kara Imes (North Penn) had four goals for DelVal.
Franklin & Marshall 16, Swarthmore 7
No. 8 Franklin & Marshall downed Swarthmore in the Centennial Conference (CC) opener for both teams. F&M improved to 6-2, 1-0 CC while the Garnet fell to 4-1, 0-1 CC.
Grace Norley (Episcopal Academy) had three goals for F&M. Tess Wild led Swarthmore with two goals and an assist.
Haverford 20, McDaniel 11
Haverford improved to 6-1 on the season with a convincing win in the Centennial Conference opener against the host Green Terror of McDaniel. Olivia DiRienz and Rina Rosnow each had four goals for the Fords while Allie Gibbons and Kate Sollee registered three goals apiece in the victory. Rachel Romens improves to 5-0 in goal after making 11 saves, a new career high for the senior goalkeeper.
Neumann 20, Gwynedd-Mercy 12
Neumann won its third consecutive contest with a comfortable victory over Gwynedd Mercy in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Kaitlyn Conrad (Penncrest) was outstanding in the win, recording nine goals and two assists on the day. Brittany Cassidy (Sun Valley) was also a force all over the field for Neumann, picking up four goals to go along with a team-high three caused-turnovers and six ground-balls. Calie Swegon (Camden Catholic-NJ) also scored four times for the Knights, while goalie Gabby Curry made 14 saves in net to pick up the win.
Alyssa Tomsic (Northampton) had five goals for Gwynedd.
Rowan 24, Cabrini 12
Maddie Bray (Shawnee) had seven goals to lead Rowan (4-1). Lauren Hughes (Methacton) and Liz Hoeffner each had three goals andf an assist for Cabrini (3-5).
Gettysburg 20, Ursinus 3
Liza Barr (Shawnee) set a personal high with four goals to lead the No. 1 Bullets (6-0, 1-0) in the Centennial Conference. Ursinus is 2-5, 0-1 CC.
