A trio of former Duke men’s lacrosse players are among the 23 players selected to United States Men’s National Team travel roster for the upcoming Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship as selected by U.S. and Duke head coach John Danowski. Jordan Wolf (Lower Merion, Duke’s LC), Ned Crotty, Matt Danowski will represent the Blue Devils at the event in July in Netanya, Israel, while John Danowski will coach the U.S.
Matt Danowski and Wolf will be making their debuts at a World Championship for the U.S., while Crotty is playing in his third event. Crotty helped lead the U.S. to the gold medal in 2010, scoring game-tying and go-ahead goals in the gold medal victory over Canada. Both Crotty and Matt Danowski are assistant coaches for the Blue Devils.
The roster was selected from the 48-member U.S. men’s national team after the Team USA Spring Premiere Saturday. It was the seventh evaluation weekend for the players since John Danowski was named head coach in 2015.
Wolf was a four-time All-American and a 2014 Tewaaraton Finalist for Duke. He had 184 goals and 120 assists for 304 points and graduated second all-time in Duke history in career points, third in career goals and career assists. He was the first player in Duke lacrosse history to earn All-ACC honors in each of his four seasons and was a two-time National champion.
he was the 2014 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player at Lincoln Financial Field and was a four-time All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
At Lower Merion, Wolf compiled 341 career points on 184 goals and 157 assists. He set school records for career points and assists, and his 113 in 2010 was a single season record. He was a two-time All-American and a two-time All-Phillylacrosse.com First Team pick as well as the Phillylacrosse Co-Player of the Year in 2010.
