US Lacrosse has announced the schedule of educational sessions and demonstrations, speakers, and a free mobile app for lacrosse coaches, officials, and organizational leaders attending the 2019 US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest (LaxCon), set for Jan. 11-13 in Philadelphia.

For mobile readers, the app is available here in the App Store and Google Play. Once the CrowdCompass AttendeeHub app is installed and open, users can simply search “laxcon” to access the official LaxCon app.

For those not yet ready to download the LaxCon app, a Web version houses the session schedules and speaker roster.

The lineup of nearly 150 speakers features many of the best coaches in lacrosse today. Highlighting the slate for attendees that coach high school and youth boys’ lacrosse: John Danowski (Team USA, Duke), Regy Thorpe (Team USA indoor, Syracuse), Andy Shay (Yale), John Galloway (Jacksonville), Chris Collins (Drexel), Paul Day (Philadelphia Wings), and Dave Cottle (Chesapeake Bayhawks), among others.

Of note for attendees that coach high school and youth girls’ lacrosse: Jenny Levy (Team USA, North Carolina), Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe (James Madison), Michael Molster (Towson), Bonnie Rosen (Temple), Remington Steele (Bucknell) and Paul McCord (Jacksonville), among others.

Briana Scurry, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and 1999 World Cup champion goalie with the U.S. women’s soccer team, will deliver the LaxCon Keynote after a welcome from US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12.

“We’ve assembled a lineup of speakers that will help attendees learn and network, so they can develop lacrosse locally when they return to their communities,” Kim Rogers, director of events at US Lacrosse, said. “LaxCon has become the kickoff to the spring playing season, and we can’t wait to welcome the lacrosse community to Philadelphia.”

The schedules for officials include clinics on mechanics, points of emphasis, crew dynamics and more, to go along with NCAA, NFHS and US Lacrosse rules interpretation sessions. Topics for organizational leaders include those on building Lacrosse Athlete Development Model programs and strategic planning for clubs, among others.

LaxCon represents lacrosse’s largest professional development conference, trade show and interactive fan fest. The convention is open to the public, and members of US Lacrosse always save $40 on registration vs. non-member pricing. Online registration continues at $35 below walk-up rates for a limited time. Special hotel rates are available for all attendees for accommodations booked before Dec. 24.
