The 12th Annual EVANFEST Youth Festival will be held April 21 at Malvern Prep.
EVANFEST is a youth boys’ lacrosse festival for ages U-15 and U-13, featuring teams from Chester and Delaware Counties. The day will bring surrounding communities together to further the sport of lacrosse and to help raise money to donate to families whose child is battling a life-threatening illness.Each team will be guaranteed two games.
The games will consist of two, 22-minute halves. Each game will be officiated by professional referees and there will be timed penalties. Most importantly, schedules will feature inter-league play between teams from SEPYLA and CCLA.
Designed as a family event, players, parents, coaches, and their family and friends are welcome and encouraged to participate. There will be plenty of food and EVANFEST merchandise for sale with all proceeds going to benefit the families supported by EVANFEST.
EVANFEST is an all-volunteer foundation that provides money and support to families that have a child battling a life-threatening illness. More than $1 million has been raised to honor the spirit of Evan Brady, a talented lacrosse player who lost his life to bone cancer shortly after graduating from Malvern Prep in 2005.
The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 20.
