From Press Release

Senior LSM Adam Maiale (Blue Bell, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) of The University of Scranton men’s lacrosse team has been named Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, according to an announcement by the USILA on Monday.

Adam Maiale

Maiale had a standout year as a long-stick midfielder, earning All-Landmark Conference First Team honors. He led the Landmark Conference in caused turnovers with 42 and finished second on the team and sixth in the conference with 62 ground balls. He also had three goals and an assist for four points, and his defensive work helped Scranton hold opponents to eight or fewer goals on nine occasions.

Maiale graduated this spring with a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in economics and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.07.

The USILA Scholar All-America Program was established in 1989 to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The criteria are:

A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale).
He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field.

He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player
