From Press Release

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released the 2018 Division III Men’s Lacrosse All-Americans on Friday morning and Salisbury University had six members recognized by the organization. Senior Kyle Tucker (Downingtown East) led the way, earning the 2018 William C. Stiles Memorial Outstanding Defensive Player award for the second straight season.

Salisbury’s Kyle Tucker (Downingtown East)

Tucker, who was a first team All-American in 2017 as well, has turned in an outstanding senior season, appearing in all 23 games while posting team highs in both groundballs and caused turnovers, recording 95 and 47, respectively. His 47 caused turnovers and average of 2.04 per game rank him in the top 70 in the nation. Tucker has helped anchor a defense that is allowing a goals against average of 7.11, which ranks 23rd in the nation entering championship weekend.

This is Tucker’s third major accolade as he was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year as well as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the first team for each organization. He is the eighth player in program history to earn the William C. Stiles award and first player to repeat as Defensive Player of the Year since Eric Martin, who accomplished the feat in 2003 and 2004.

Salisbury returns to action on Sunday, May 27 when it takes on Wesleyan (Conn.) University in the Division III Men’s Lacrosse National Championship game at Gillette Stadium at 1 p.m.
