Friends’ Central has named Kelli Romano as its head girls’ lacrosse coach.
Romano is a graduate of Sun Valley and Cabrini University and served as an assistant coach for three seasons at Germantown Academy. She was an assistant with the Philly Under Armour Girls Underclassmen Team and the Pennsylvania squad for the National Lacrosse Classic, winning championships in 2015, and 2016.
Romani is an NCAA and PIAA referee for soccer and PIAA referee for basketball. She played both soccer and lacrosse at Cabrini and was named team captain for both sports and athlete of the year her senior year. Romano Kelli played attack for Cabrini in 57 games, massing 174 goals, had 94 assists and 105 ground balls. In the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC), she was named Second Team All-PAC in 2001, 2002 and First Team All-PAC in 2003, 2004 and earned All-PAC Player of the Year in 2004.
Diana Caicedo, a Haverford High and Neumann grad, has been named an assistant under Romano. At Neumann, Caicedoa scored 80 goals, assisted 20 times, picked up 134 ground balls, had 28 caused turnovers and 39 draw controls. She was selected to the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Honorable Mention Team twice.
