Registration is open for the West Chester Lacrosse Association Fall Futures clinics for boys and girls.
West Chester Lacrosse Association Futures is a developmental program that serves boys and girls in kindergarten and preschool (2018/19 school year, ages 3+) and will focus on age-appropriate lacrosse FUNdamentals including footwork, hand-eye coordination, and agility. Your young lacrosse players will have a blast during our weekly sessions that incorporate lacrosse skills with energizing games that teach athletic coordination. If your child is new to Futures, they will receive a stick to keep at the first session. Please note, as we use tennis balls, no helmets, goggles or mouth guards are required.
DATES: September 9th, 16th, 23rd, (NO Futures Sept. 30) October 7th, 14th (4 PM start time), 21st
TIME: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
LOCATION: Rustin High School, Field 316 (see map below)
EQUIPMENT:Sneakers & water bottles are required, (returning players need a lacrosse stick)
Coach Nicole Lockhart will continue to lead the weekly Futures sessions for the fall season. A former high school Ches-Mont All-Area and collegiate All-American field hockey and lacrosse athlete, she is a tenured youth lacrosse coach. In addition, her 15+ vast experience as an elementary education teacher in the West Chester Area School District makes her the perfect fit for our Futures program. Assisting Lockhart are local lacrosse athletes with experience working with children.

2018 Boys Fall Skills Clinic
West Chester Lacrosse Fall Clinics will be an instructional and fun lacrosse experience for boys in 1st-9th grades. The curriculum is based first on stick skills and technique, then progressing to competition, team concepts and games. Players will be grouped by age and ability level to ensure productive, fun, and efficient sessions.
The Boys Fall Skills Clinic will be lead by lacrosse dynamics, John Nostrant & Mike DelGrande. Coach Nostrant is the co-founder of the locally and nationally recognized Mesa Lacrosse program and serves as the Boys Varsity Head Lacrosse Coach at The Haverford School. As a player, John was a 3-time All-American midfielder at Washington College and a 2-time All-Pro player for the Philadelphia Wings and the Baltimore Thunder. Coach Nostrant has served as the Head Coach of The Haverford School since 1991 with a win total approaching 500. He also served as an assistant coach for the gold medal winning 2008 USA U-19 lacrosse team. Mike DelGrande, the Director of Operations for the Mesa Lacrosse program, has been involved with youth and high school lacrosse for the past 30 years. He previously served for 8 years as Athletic Director and Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach for Philadelphia based Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. Prior to Springside Chestnut Hill, he spent 20 years as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach for the Bullis School in Maryland. During his time at Bullis, he was named US Lacrosse/Potomac Chapter – Coach of the Year and Man of the Year. DelGrande was elected into the USILA/Potomac Chapter Hall of Fame in 2010.
The coaching staff will include an all-star staff of local college and high school lacrosse players. We will focus on individual and team skills, emphasizing on both dominant and non-dominant stick skills and core defensive and offensive play at all levels. Full pads and helmets are required to participate.

2018 Girls Fall Skills Clinic
The West Chester Lacrosse Association Girls Fall Skills Clinic allows players to recharge their lacrosse skills and improve their lacrosse IQ! The skill sessions focus on proper lacrosse technique, high repetitions (hundreds of touches per player), and a “play fast/think fast” style methodology. The foundation of the clinic is high-level instruction to hone core fundamental skills in a fun environment.
