Legendary Johns Hopkins coach Dave Pietramala provided an inspirational speech Sunday to highlight the third installment of the Dukes Lacrosse Club Ricky Whelan Instructional Clinics at Bishop Shanahan High.
The event also served as a kickoff for the new Duke’s Lacrosse Chester County program, which hosted the event.
Coach Pietramala spoke on the importance of hard work, self discipline, consistency, and the choices all are faced with making in today’s social media driven society.
Duke’s Chester County wished to thank Bishop Shanahan High School, Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Lacrosse Coach Paul Meyers, head coach John Heisman and all of the Shanahan Boys lacrosse team members for use of their facilities and for volunteering their time at the event.
The season’s fourth and final Ricky Whelan Clinic will be held Sunday at Cardinal O’Hara (2-4 p.m.) with Bryn Athyn head coach and NLL standout defenseman Tucker Durkin (La Salle, Duke’s LC) as the guest speaker.
