From Press Release

Chestnut Hill College senior attackman Dylan Klusaritz (Parkland) has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Co-Player of the Year.

Klusaritz and his Griffins (No. 2 seed, 7-9) will meet host Georgian Court (No. 1 seed, 10-6) today at noon for the inaugural CACC championship.

Klusaritz shared the Player of the Year award with Geiorgian Court’s Michael Saladino (Springfield, N.J.). Georgian Court coach Mickey Hover – formerly head coach at Immaculata and assistant at Gwynedd Mercy University – garnered the league’s Coach of the Year honor after leading his team to a CACC Regular Season Championship and a perfect 5-0 league standing. Meanwhile, Wilmington University was recognized with the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award.

Chestnut Hill College offered six All-CACC performers in all. Klusaritz headlined the Griffins’ All-CACC First Team selections, which also included senior midfielder Joshua Pope (Parkland), sophomore midfielder Scott Wilden (Wexford, Pa.), senior defenseman Kyle Newman (Plainsboro, N.J.), and sophomore faceoff specialist Blake Turner (Tampa, Fla.). Howell earned All-CACC Second Team honors.

Klusaritz stands second in the league goals (2nd, 37) and points (2nd, 49), while tying for seventh (T7th, 12) in assists, and contributing 13 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Like Saladino, Klusaritz scored five man-up goals; he also earned CACC Weekly Honor Roll accolades four times (4/16, 4/9, 4/2, 3/13) and named the CACC Player of the Week on March 5. On April 11, Klusaritz recorded the 100th goal of his collegiate career in a 17-7 league-win at Felician University.

Howell emerged as a freshman factor over the course of the season, earning the CACC Rookie of the Week awards on April 16, April 9, and April 2. He currently ranks third in the league for assists (3rd, 16) and fourth in points (4th, 36), while tying for seventh (T7th, 20) in goals. One of Howell’s tallies came on a man-up opportunity, he also offered 27 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Geissel garnered three CACC Defensive Player of the Week awards (4/16, 3/26, 3/5) and a CACC Weekly Honor Roll mention on March 13. He was the league’s top goalkeeper statistically as well with a 9-5 record, an 8.73 goals-against-average (1st, GAA), 186 saves (1st), and a .616 save percentage (1st).

As the Scarlet and Gold captain, Pope earned a CACC Weekly Honor Roll mention on February 26 and has contributed 23 points (18 goals, 5 assists), 25 ground balls, and seven caused turnovers to the Griffins season thus far. Wilden was the CACC Rookie of the Week on the same report (2/26) and currently has 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists), 12 ground balls, and four caused turnovers. Newman has been one of the league’s top defenders so far this season with the third highest caused turnover total (3rd, 22) and 39 ground balls, which tie him for seventh (T7th, 39) among his conference peers. He has also recorded two goals (2 points). Turner has dominated the faceoff circle with a CACC-high 181 (1st, 181-of-303, .597) victories and 78 ground balls (2nd, 78). He recorded his first collegiate goal in a 14-9 CACC win over Dominican College on April 7.
