What are your college, future and service goals?
Flanegan:
“I plan to major in biology or pre-med for my undergraduate degree. After completion, my goal is to attend medical school and then specialize in anesthesia for residency. As for athletics, I am open to playing at any level of NCAA lacrosse, as I am using the sport as a tool to find the best academic opportunity possible. Regarding service, I volunteer at Abington Memorial Hospital, and continue to work with my former township team, North Penn Dragons Lacrosse Club, as a volunteer positional coach. In addition, I will be participating in the Lansdale Catholic “For The Kids Dance Marathon.” I was recently elected to the Executive Office Board for Lansdale Catholic Student Government. I hope to use this position to generate service opportunities for our students.”

How do you describe leadership?
Flanegan:
“In my family, leadership comes down to four basic characteristics: a willingness to do the work, be accountable for yourself, be honest, and keep things positive. If you can work hard, take care of your responsibilities, tell the truth and stay positive, people will work with you and towards a common goal.”

How do you balance lacrosse, school and extracurriculars?
Flanegan:
“Balance is a huge challenge for me daily, since lacrosse is always at the top of my list. My family is very close, so my parents are always keeping an eye on me. I tend to work hardest on lacrosse, followed by academics, and then social life. One of the techniques we focus on is not waiting till the last minute for anything (getting a suit for prom, studying, doing a paper, or working on my overhand shot). If I work on all three areas at least a little each day, I can stay balanced, current, and on point.”
