Southern Lehigh 2019 attackman Michael Smith has committed to play Division II lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College.

Michael Smith profile:

Michael Smith

High school: Southern Lehigh High School, Center Valley, PA

Grad year: 2019

Position: Attack

College committed to: Chestnut Hill College

Club team: HEADstrong Lehigh Valley

Expected major: Health Science with minor in Business

Why did you choose Chestnut Hill? “The first criteria was to be close to home, then the size of the school and the student to faculty ratio. I didn’t want to get lost in the crowd.”

HS team’s 2019 outlook: “Obviously, losing three key players, it’s going to have a big impact. We still look to have a strong squad. We will still have the same attack as last season and a couple of key midfielders. Also a couple of key defenseman. The freshman from last year will be stepping up into bigger roles.”

Thank You: “I would like to start off by thanking my parents for helping and pushing me to be the best. I also want to thank my Uncle, Doug Smith, for spending countless hours coaching me throughout the years. He has been a key part to my success. I would like to thank all the coaches throughout the years. I would like to thank Mike Bender, Lucas Repka and Tony Fabrizio from HEADstrong. Special thanks to the coaches from Southern Lehigh High School present and past … Ty Souders, Harrison Lawrence, Lucas VanEmburg, Ryan Duffy and Desi Gonzalez. Also thanks to Kevin O’Neill from the Lehigh Valley Outlaws.”

Other schools considered: Arcadia, Alvernia, Caldwell
