Haverford High 2020 midfielder John Scheivert has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.
John Scheivert profile:
High school: Haverford High School
Grad year: 2020
Position: Midfield
College committed to: University of Delaware
Club team: Rising Sons
Lacrosse honors: 2018 2nd Team All-Main Line, 2015 Dicks Tournament of Champions
Academic honors: Honor Roll throughout high school.
Expected major: Business
Why did you choose Delaware? “I chose Delaware because they have great academics and a good business program. When I toured the school with the coaches, I felt at home with the coaches and the campus and thought it was a great fit. Coach (Ben) DeLuca offers a lot of experience and enthusiasm which I can learn from. I was excited he wanted an HHS Ford to be part of his future team.”
HS team’s 2019 outlook: “We have a young hardworking team this upcoming season. I am looking forward to a competitive season.”
Thank You: “I want to thank my coaches, Tad Doyle, Adam Mueller, and Billy Conners from the Rising Sons for all of their help and guidance throughout the recruiting process. I’d like to thank my high school coach, Greg Decina, for his encouragement and dedication to the HHS program and pushing us to become better players and young men. I would also like to thank my Blaze coaches, Fox and Bennett. Lastly, I would like to thank my parents for all of their time and commitment.”
Other schools considered: Towson, Fairfield, High Point, and UMass
