Bayard Rustin 2020 midfielder Nick Madonna of PA Roughriders has made a commitment to the admissions process at the United States Naval Academy.

Nick Madonna profile:

Nick Madonna

High school: Bayard Rustin, West Chester, PA

Position: Midfield

Grad year: 2020

College committed to: United States Naval Academy

Club team: PA Roughriders

Lacrosse honors: 2017 All American Philly Command Team; 2018 IMLCA 2020 division MVP; 2017-2018 All Ches-Mont League; 2018 Under Armour Uncommitted Game

Academic honors: Honor Roll, National German Honor Society

Expected major: Engineering, Business

Why did you choose Navy? “It has been my goal since my freshman year to attend a service academy. I have family members in the Navy. I am thankful that I will have the opportunity to serve my country.”

HS team’s 2018 highlights: “We were a young team and learned how to play together. We are expecting big things in our 2019 season.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank my parents, coaches, and friends who have helped me get to where I am today. I would not have been able to do it without my mom and dad constantly supporting me through the process. I have had great coaches from West Chester Lacrosse (Mike Dewey and Chris Flynn), Bayard Rustin HS (Kevin Philibin), and my Roughrider Club teams (Pete Carozza, Chris Maits, and Doug Corrigan). Also, thanks to a family friend and coach, Jim Schorn, for his advice and position training along the way. All of my coaches provided wisdom and tips to become a better player and it would not have been possible without them.”

Other schools considered: Ohio State, Drexel, Army, Bucknell, Fairfield
