Delaware County Christian School 2018 attack Amanda Onumus has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Arcadia University.

Amanda Onimus profile:

Amanda Onimus

High school: Delaware County Christian School, Newtown Sqaure PA

Grad year: 2018

Position: Attack

College committed to: Arcadia University

Expected major: Early Education, Special Education

Why did you choose Arcadia?
“When browsing colleges Arcadia quickly became a top choice. Arcadia’s faculty, community, and all around feel is truly amazing. When I saw that they had the exact major I wanted (early ed, special ed) I knew this school was for me. When I was in contact with coaches I knew that I wanted to play at Arcadia. The coaching staff quickly treated me like their own and were so nice to me. Being able to play the sport I love at a university I love has always been a dream of mine. I am so excited to be a Knight!”

HS team’s 2018 outlook: “Our goal for 2018 is to persevere through trials; being during a game, practice, or in our own lives. Another goal would be to get better at one thing at a time, whether it be shooting left, using our outside hand, catching and passing, or ground balls.”

Thank You: “I want to thank my parents, who for years upon years have supported me in every aspect of lacrosse, driving me to games or practices, buying things for our team, and pushing me to be a better me. I also want to thank my coaches, Ashton Dwyer, for always pushing me to get better no matter what and for always keeping the team healthy, and great and wanting to play lacrosse; Coach Joel Schuster, thank you for the continuous support throughout multiple seasons, and the continuous dad jokes during games and practices, thank you for calming us down during games when we’re all having an off day; Coach Kelsey Yori, thank you for teaching us your skills and making sure we use our outside hand, use 2 hands for ground balls and shooting left. You three coaches are truly a blessing. Lastly, I want to thank my friends, for always sticking by me and my decisions, for always cheering me on and the laughs. Thank you for being so understanding for my sports schedule and my lack of being able to hang out all the time. I truly don’t know what I would do without you all.”

Other schools considered: Coastal Carolina University, Marywood University, Alvernia University, Kutztown University, Gordon College, East Strousburg University
