From Staff Report

Springfield-Delco senior attackman Kyle Long became the school’s all-time point leader tonight when he led the Cougars to a 10-9 win over Spring-Ford in a non-league game.

Kyle Long

Long had two goals and four assists and now has 329 career points, passing Greg Campbell (324), a 1992 grad and All-American. Lucas Spence, a 2015 grad playing at Lehigh, is third at 297.

“Greg Campbell is a legend – it’s an honor to be mentioned in the same category as him and the other Springfield greats on that list.

“I have been really fortunate to play on some great teams that played deep into the state playoffs. That has granted me more opportunities to play in more games and have more opportunities to accumulate points. Also, I have played with some great shooters and finishers that have helped me be successful.”

Springfield (2-1), which has won two straight PIAA championships, rallied from a 4-2 first-period deficit and got three goals apiece from Mike Tulskie and Ben Garcia.

Jarrod Marenger had four goals for the Rams (1-2) and Ryan Rosenblum had three goals and an assist.
