A pair of Lehigh men’s lacrosse standout defenseman were selected in the Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft, as announced by the league on Monday. Alumnus and current assistant coach Casey Eidenshink (La Salle) was selected by the Ohio Machine while Dylan O’Shaughnessy ’15 went to the New York Lizards. Eidenshink has been picked up by an MLL team in the past, while O’Shaughnessy has played in 14 career MLL contests.

O’Shaughnessy finished his Lehigh career with nine goals, two assists, 66 groundballs and 41 caused turnovers. He was a key member of the Mountain Hawks’ back-to-back Patriot League Championships in 2012 and 2013, and a return trip to the title game in 2014. During that 2014 season, O’Shaughnessy became a weapon on offense as well, posting eight goals and two assists, including two man-up goals. O’Shaughnessy was selected by New York in the player pool in 2015, and has played 14-career MLL games. O’Shaughnessy played in seven games for the Lizards between 2015 and 2016, recording a goal, 13 groundballs and three caused turnovers. He then played seven games for the Atlanta Blaze in 2017, tallying an assist, 12 groundballs and two caused turnovers.
