From Press Release
Hofstra University senior midfielder and team tri-captain Dylan Alderman (Bishop Shanahan, Team ManUp) was named one of 20 candidates nationally for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award in men’s lacrosse, it was announced today.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
A finance major, Alderman carries a 3.54 grade point average and has been a three-time Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient and a four-time Dean’s List student.
Alderman was an All-CAA First Team selection in 2017 after posting 18 goals and 18 assists. His 18 assists ranked third in the CAA and his 2.57 points per game placed him 10th in the league in that category. He tallied four multi-goal gams as a junior including a four-goal performance against Massachusetts as well three-goal games against North Carolina and Towson. During his three-plus years with the Pride, Alderman has recorded 35 goals and 36 assists including three goals and a team-best five assists through three games in 2018.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The 20 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists later in the season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced in conjunction with the 2018 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Championship in May. For more information on each of the candidates, visit seniorCLASSaward.com.
