Casey Brown had six goals and four assists as No. 2 Chestnut Hill College claimed a decisive 18-1 victory over #3 Post University Friday in the semifinals of the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championships at Georgian Court.
The Griffins (7-9) advance to the title game against No. 1 Georgian Court – a 17-4 winner over Wilmington (DE) – Sunday at noon. Georgian Court is coached by former Gwynbedd Mercy College assistant and Immaculata head coach Mickey Hover.
Four other Griffins recorded multiple points in the affair, including Dylan Klusaritz (Parkland, 4 goals, 1 assist), Scott Wilden (2 goals), and J.R. Howell Howell (2 goals, 3 assists. Senior defenseman Kyle Newman (Plainsboro, N.J.) scored his third goal of the season with 12:44 remaining in the second quarter, while junior midfielder Troy Ellers recorded his first goal of the season as the contest’s final tally.
Sophomore Blake Turner won 13-of-18 (.722) face-offs, while senior goalkeeper Matthew Pedrick (New Milford, N.J.) earned the win (6-9) with 14 saves and a ground ball in the first three quarters. Sophomore goalkeeper Stephen Hogan Jr. (Central Bucks West) recorded eight saves in the fourth frame.
