Easton stuns Parkland in overtime, 14-13, for East Penn girls’ championship

Leanna Deegan (four goals) won the opening draw of the overtime period and scored 16 seconds into overtime to lift Easton to a 14-13 win over Parkland Monday for the East Penn Conference girls’ lacrosse championship at Northampton.

Easton (15-2) had fallen to Parkland the last 18 times they met. Parkland (15-5) also had won the last five league titles.

Parkland trailed 7-1 at one point in the first half, but rallied and finally tied it, 13-13 on a goal by Abby Giacobbe with 15.2 seconds remaining in regulation.

Hanna Doerner added four goals for the Red Rovers whole Allison Drake added a goal and four assists. Rylee Soltis stood out in goal with 9 saves.

Kenzie Roth paced Parkland with five goals and three assists and Camryn Barnett added three goals.
