.@dukesnationals welcomes Christmas as coach for 2024 team and West Coast Director

The Duke’s Nationals program has welcomed former Duke’s LC coach and Lower Merion/Virginia great Coach John Christmas to its professional coaching staff. Coach Christmas will be responsible for the 2024 teams offensive development as well as the west coast director of player recruitment. Coach Christmas brings a wealth of lacrosse knowledge as a professional player and professional coach/Instructor to our young aspiring student-athletes.

John Christmas Biography
Coach Christmas grew up in Philadelphia and attended Lower Merion High School where he was one of the greatest players in Pennsylvania prep lacrosse history. From there he went to play for at the University of Virginia for Dom Starsia and helped lead his team to a NCAA National Championship in 2003. After being named an All American twice in college, he went on to play for the Boston Cannons and Chesapeake Bayhawks (MLL) as well as his hometown Philadelphia Wings (NLL) and LXM Pro. He has vast coaching experience, tutoring dozens of All Americans. He was a co-founder of Dukes HHH, has helped to start lacrosse programs all over the globe and has coached at the NCAA Division 1 level at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2018 Christmas was the co-offensive coordinator for Uganda National team. Christmas is a founder of Encore Lacrosse and lives in San Francisco with his wife Ellie and his son Sky. A true student of the game, John loves to watch lacrosse at all levels in his spare time. Currently, Christmas coaches at De La Salle High School in Concord California.

The next Dukes Nationals tryouts and clinic (for classes of 2023 to 2027) will be held Oct. 27 at Annapolis, Md.
