Gonzalez brothers (Lou, Desi) named to Puerto Rico roster for FIL Championships

Lou Gonzalez, Dukes Nationals Director and Director of The Duke’s Lacrosse Academy; and younger brother Desi Gonzalez, the head coach at Emmaus and a Dukes Nationals coach, have been named as one of 23 players for the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team that will compete this summer in the FIL Championships in Netanya, Israel.

Lou Gonzalez helped Sachem High to the New York state championship game in 1995 and starred at LIU Post where he was a three-time All-American and two-time National champion.

Desi Gonzalez – head coach of the Dukes Nationals 2025 team – graduated from Limestone in 2012 and was head coach at Southern Lehigh in 2015 and 2016, posting a sizzling 37-6 record while leading the Spartans to the District 11 title in 2016. He was named head coach of Emmaus this past summer.

Desi Gonzalez helped lead Sachem High to the New York State Championship as a junior and was named All-American. He had 32 goals and 9 assists in two seasons at Limestone.

Also making the roster was 2017 Chestnut Hill College grad Justin Albarran, a midfielder from Freehold Twp, N.J., who had 7 goals and 6 assists last year for the Griffins.
