From Press Release

The Dallas Rattlers’ John Galloway and the Chesapeake Bayhawks’ Niko Amato (La Salle, Duke’s LC, Immaculata head men’s coach, NetNation) have been chosen to share the Brine Goalie of the Year Award.

Niko Amato

Amato essentially grabbed the starting role in the cage for head coach Dave Cottle in the second half of the Bayhawks’ game at Charlotte on May 3 and then led Chesapeake to seven straight victories. He had eight wins in his 12 appearances. Amato’s goals-against-average was 12.37 and one two separate occasions he made 20 saves or more in a contest. Amato faced an average of 26.7 shots-on-goal for every 60 minutes he played.

Galloway won eight-of-nine starts for the Rattlers this season, and prior to the loss against New York on July 29, he had won 11 consecutive regular season games dating back to July 16, 2017. The defensive field general finished the season with a 12.90 goals-against-average (GAA) helping lead the Rattlers to the franchise’s best-ever regular season record.
