Rosters announced for tonight’s NXT/RBA Charity Hoops Game

November 17, 2017 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 11/17/17

The 2017 Philly Showcase will feature a special charity coaches basketball game tonight at United Sports in Downingtown. The Philly Showcase annually attracts many of the top NCAA programs from around the nation, and this year some of those coaches are giving up their time to play some hoops and raise money for two great causes, the Jack Sandler Leadership Foundation and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

The Jack Sandler Leadership Foundation’s mission is to inspire young athletes to fulfill their potential in all aspects of life. The non-profit charitable foundation does that in part by investing in the future of student athletes by providing scholarship opportunities for players who need financial assistance to attend high-level summer lacrosse camps. The Foundation is named in honor of Jack Sandler, who was a college lacrosse coach at Skidmore and Colby, and was a close friend to so many coaches in the college ranks. (To donate, make check payable to Jack Sandler Leadership Foundation 262 Thimbleberry Road Malta, NY 12020).

The tragedy of teen suicide struck the Showcase family recently as Pierce Jarack, a sixteen year-old from Rumson, NJ who played club lacrosse for NJ Riot, tragically took his own life. Pierce was a former showcase participant who also was formerly taught by the sister of Showcase Lacrosse director, Brett Manney. To confront this issue, we are supporting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. (To donate, make check payable to MHA-NYC, 50 Broadway, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10004)
