Registration open for Dave Page Goalie School on May 7 at North Brandywine High

April 21, 2017 by Chris Goldberg

On Sunday, May 7th from 10am-1pm the Dave Page Goalie School will be hosting its May goalie clinic at North Brandywine Middle School.

This is a great opportunity for goalies to make sure they are sharp as they wrap up their Spring season and in many cases get ready for the Summer Lacrosse and Recruiting season. Goalies will be broken up by age/experience, with the more experienced group working progressing to high-level concepts while the younger/newer goalies will get a healthy dose of the basics before being introduced to some fresh new drills. With a 3:1 Goalie:Coach Ratio, this will be a high-rep, fast paced day that will help all goalies take a step forward.

The first hour will focus on teaching, tweaking and repping through the foundations of goalie plays; footwork, positioning, hand speed and clearing. The drills will vary by experience level, but the BEST goalies in the world never progress beyond hammering the basics. As we move beyond the first hour, goalies will progress through a series of closely-coached drills working on skills and techniques including:

*Positioning and Technique for playing shots off the dodge, both above and below the cage.
*Specialized drills to expose and correct issues to common “trouble shots” for goalies (Off-hip, hard bouncers, shots off of feeds, etc)
*Full and Half-field clearing drills that focus not only on stickwork, but the concepts that make clearing easier for goalies and their teammates.
*Lots and lots of “live” shots from College and Post-College shooters (adjusted to the age/ability of the goalie in the cage)

Dave Page clinics are designed to be as “hands-on” as you can find, and coaches will have the freedom to adjust as they go and specialize each drill for the goalie in the cage. With this in mind, the clinics will ALWAYS prioritize a narrow Goalie:Coach ratio, so you can be sure each goalie will get everything they need. Any questions can be directed to Foundationlax@gmail.com or by calling Dave Page at 484-947-3201; coaches are excited to talk about our training and why it is exactly what all Youth/HS goalies need!
