In that role Coach Leahy will be responsible for insuring coach quality control and development across NXT’s entire educational platform. He will oversee the implementation of the NXT coaching playbook, assist with coach development, and ensure that all NXT players receive the best possible coaching. Additionally, Coach Leahy will oversee NXT’s college guidance services for NXT players at the high school level as they navigate the recruiting process.

Said Coach Leahy, “I am very grateful to Coach Peter Lawrence, Andy Hayes, and Marty Kupprion for the opportunity to continue to advance within the NXT Sports family. It is my sincere hope that the position of Director of Coaching and Guidance continues to enhance the high quality of NXT Lacrosse which has become a cornerstone in the Philadelphia area. I look forward to working with all of the coaches, players, and families, at all levels, within the NXT Club Lacrosse family.”

Peter Lawrence, Chief Operating Officer of NXT and himself a 18-year college coach, noted, “Bill Leahy is one of the most decorated scholastic lacrosse coaches in Pennsylvania. Additionally, he is also an educator and a guidance counselor. His skill set makes him a unique asset to our coaches, players, and families. We are honored to have him as a part of NXT.”

Coach Leahy brings an impressive lacrosse resume. He just completed his 26th year as Head Coach at La Salle College High School. He has achieved an overall record of 430-88 (288-4 in the Catholic League) which includes the 2004, 2008, 2009, and 2013 Pennsylvania State Championships and 21 Pennsylvania Catholic League Championships.

He is a 1992 graduate of Loyola College in Maryland where he played and coached. From 1995-1996 he played professionally for the Philadelphia Wings. Coach Leahy coached the 2007 U.S. South UnderArmour All American Team. In 2010, Coach Leahy was the first lacrosse coach to be inducted into the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame. In 2013, he was inducted into the US Lacrosse Philadelphia chapter Hall of Fame.

He was a member of the coaching staff for the 2016 Under-19 USA gold medal World Team that competed in the World Games in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This coming fall, Coach Leahy will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

NXT LC will be holding its annual tryouts August 17th through the 20th at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, PA.
