Bishop Shanahan 2019 attackman Kyle Gucwa has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Manhattan College.

Position: Attack

Grad year: 2019

College committed to: Manhattan College

Club team: Philly Freedom

Lacrosse honors: 43 goals 10 assists last spring, Blue Chip, Chester County All-Star

Academic honors: Maguire Scholar, Maguire Leadership Certificate

Expected major: Undecided

Why did you choose Manhattan? “I chose Manhattan because of the location and the outlook for the lacrosse team. The campus itself is very nice and is walking distance from all of NYC. Coach Kelleher is really turning the program around and the potential for the team is unbelievable.”

HS team’s 2018 outlook: “Hopefully a Ches-Mont, District 1, and state championship.”

Thank You: “I want to thank my parents, most importantly, as they stuck with me this whole recruiting process and pushed me to do better. I also want to thank my high school coaches for being hard on me during the season as it made me a better player. Lastly, I want to thank my club coach, Coach Miller, as he helped me get recruited in the first place and was promoting me to coaches.”
