Zach Bowen

Position: Attack

College Choice: DeSales University

Club Team: Delaware Silverbacks

Lacrosse Honors: 3rd Team All-State, First Team All-Conference

Why did you choose DeSales? “I chose this school because the coaches were welcoming and it felt right. As soon as I got a tour of the campus, I experienced what I never had with any of the other schools I visited. Along with the experiences with the coaches and players, the academic programs that were offered made me believe that no doubt this college is a perfect fit as a student athlete.”

HS team’s Outlook for 2017 season? “Prior to the 2017 season, we lost in the DIAA State Championship game, so this year we are hitting the ground running with determination and high hopes for this season in order to get back and accomplish our goal.”

Thank You: “First, to start off I would like to thank my parents for getting me into the sport as well as taking me to the countless tournaments, games, and practices.

“Next I would like to thank all my youth coaches, Mr. Kevin Green and Mr. John Graser, for guiding me at such a young age and for teaching me the basics to the sport.

“Third, I would like to thank my Delaware Silverbacks coach, Christian Zwickert, for believing in me the past 4 years and for helping me narrow down my college choices.

“Last but not least, I would like to thank my high school coaches Coach Chris Rutter, Coach Mike Mcguigan, Coach John Covaleski, and all the other coaches on our Appoquinimink staff for advancing my game to the next level and for leading us to the State Championship.”

Other schools considered: Widener University, Mount Union University, Goucher College, and University of Mary Washington.
