From Press Release

The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team is several weeks into fall practice as it prepares for a busy fall slate. The Mountain Hawks will host their annual Community Night and Alumni Game on Friday, Oct. 6 before competing in the Nicholas Colleluori Classic at Hofstra University the following weekend.

On Friday, Oct. 6, the Mountain Hawks will host Community Night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Local youngsters are encouraged to come out to the Ulrich Sports Complex and learn from Lehigh’s players and coaches. Everyone is welcome to stick around for a first-glimpse at the 2017-18 Mountain Hawks as they face an alumni team at 8 p.m.

Lehigh will travel to Long Island on Saturday, Oct. 14 to compete in the Nicholas Colleluori Classic. The Mountain Hawks will face Penn State at 12:00 p.m. and Hartford at 1:40 p.m. at Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium. Lehigh is joining forces with the HEADstrong Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing essential services to improve lives affected by cancer. The Mountain Hawks are helping raise awareness and funds for the cause, and seek donations from Lehigh supporters. To donate, please click here.

About HEADstrong and the Nick Colleluori Classic
The Men’s Nick Colleluori Classic Long Island hosted by Hofstra University is a special collegiate lacrosse event honoring the life and legacy of Nick “HEAD” Colleluori. Colleluori was a lacrosse player entering his sophomore year at Hofstra when he was terminally diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. His public fight from the sidelines captivated the nation and from his hospital bed he created the HEADstrong Foundation to help improve lives affected by cancer. In addition to supporting local families, this event will also support the expansion of Nick’s House, a family home located in Swarthmore, PA that provides complimentary lodging for families displaced to the Greater Philadelphia Region seeking potentially lifesaving cancer treatments at area hospitals. Nick’s House is a home away from home for families from all over the country, allowing them to pursue the most innovative and advanced treatments while having the comfort and embrace of a loving community when they are so far away from their own.
