Kelly’s LC jumped out to a quick 3-goal lead before withstanding a pair of fierce comebacks from Great American LC, to win its second consecutive William Penn Lacrosse League Championship, 10-9, on Sunday night at the Conshohocken Proving Grounds.

Matt Silverio sandwiched a pair of goals around one by Ant Peruso in Kelly’s quick start, but GALC stormed back scoring 3 of the next 4. Led by “Video” John Peruso’s faceoff domination and the scoring of McKenzie Bros Luke “Bob” Wiles and Alex “Doug” Turner along with the firm of Haig (Adam) & Haig (Drew), Kelly’s exploded after halftime to extend its lead to 9-4.

GALC quickly answered with a 4-goal run, closing to within one in the final minutes of the game. Kelly’s stout defense stiffened as Goalie Eric Gorman made several key saves in the frantic final minutes to seal the victory.
