We take a break from the snow and ice for big news on Philly grads in Florida’s Rollins College.

Two Philly freshmen have taken major roles in leading Rollins, ranked No 7 in the nation in Division II, to a big start.

Midfielder Hannah Ashton (Conestoga) has a team-high 20 goals as well as 16 draw controls and 8 groundballs while middie Maggie Dougherty (New Hope-Solebury) has 8 goals, 7 assists and a team-highs of 22 draw controls and 11 groundballs as well as 7 caused turnovers.

Also, sophomore attack Elle Ueland (Central Bucks West) has been a key reserve with a goal and three assists.

Rollins is 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Sunshine State Conference. Ashton was named the conference Offensive Player of the Week two weeks ago annd last week.

Rollins hosts Seton Hill today. No ice or snow is in the forecast!
