From Press Release

East Stroudsburg University junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) and freshman goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway were named to the IWLCA Division II All-America third team, giving the Warriors two All-America selections in women’s lacrosse for the first time in 17 years, it was released Thursday.

Rahmer and Petteway helped lead ESU to its first-ever PSAC championship, PSAC regular season title and NCAA Division II Tournament appearance during a record-setting season.

The Warriors (17-3) set a school record for wins, including a record-shattering 12-game winning streak, culminating with a 10-9 win over Mercyhurst in the PSAC championship game on May 7.

ESU fell to Florida Tech, 17-10, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last Friday.

The Warriors placed three players on the IWLCA All-South Region team announced last week, with Rahmer and Petteway on the first team and sophomore midfielder Emma Rufolo on the second team. Rufolo was named PSAC Athlete of the Year and gave ESU three first team All-PSAC honorees.

Rahmer was ESU’s top scorer with 50 goals and 60 points, and ranked second on the Warriors behind Rufolo in caused turnovers (35), ground balls (55) and draw controls (56). She helped ESU rank second in the PSAC in scoring (13.2 goals per game) and third in caused turnovers, ground balls and draw controls per game.

She scored 24 of her 50 goals in ESU’s nine games against nationally-ranked opponents. She had at least three goals in nine of 20 contests, and recorded double figure points in all but three games.

Her biggest games included five goals in a 16-10 win vs. then-No. 10 Mercyhurst on April 15, and four goals and an assist in both games in the final week of the regular season – 17-12 at No. 12 West Chester and 16-8 vs. No. 19 IUP. She had two goals and six draw controls in the PSAC championship win vs. Mercyhurst.

She was one of four Warriors to score at least 30 goals, and one of four with at least 50 points, on a team that set a school record with 263 goals and scored at least 10 in all 20 games.

Rahmer has 97 goals and 20 assists through three seasons, along with 80 caused turnovers, 134 ground balls and 124 draw controls as a standout two-way midfielder.
