US Lacrosse of Central Pennsylvania announces the Inaugural Hall of Fame reception and dinner event, Sunday evening January 29 at the Sheraton Harrisburg (4650 Lindle Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111) with keynote speaker Penn State University men’s lacrosse coach Jeff Tambroni, and Master of Ceremonies, CBS21 WHP’s Tom Russell.
“This will be the first time lacrosse enthusiasts across the sport will convene – from colleges, high schools, rec teams, travel clubs, and officials’ associations – to celebrate The Creator’s Game,” notes chapter president, Richard Hergenroeder. Reception begins at 5 pm and all are welcome to greet the women and men who led the way, broke new ground, and contributed to make the game great in Central PA. Tickets required by Jan. 22.
Hall of Fame honorees:
*Chris Allen, pioneered the girl’s game in Berks County
*David Heisey, pioneered the boy’s game in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties
*Sid Jamieson, pioneered the men’s game at Bucknell University
*Richard Lefever, pioneered the boy’s game in Lancaster County
*Carol Venet, pioneered officiating and the girls game in Cumberland County
*David Webster, pioneered record setting lacrosse at his alma mater, Dickinson College

Lacrosse ranks among the fastest growing sports in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, PIAA. Central PA is one of 68 chapters in 45 states with membership growth of 30 percent in two years to 6,135. The organization’s mission is to educate, train and expand “The Creator’s Game”, nicknamed after the first games played by Native Americans.
