The Cabrini women’s lacrosse team claimed 12 All-Colonial States Athletic Conference accolades today, as the league released its 2017 End of the Year awards.

Head Coach Jackie Neary was named Coach of the Year for the 12th time, while sophomore Avery Murphy (Archbishop Carroll) was named the conference Player of the Year.

Murphy was joined by senior Jess Breuning (St. Hubert) and juniors Jackie Neary (Kingsway Regional-NJ) and Gabby Lee (Academy Park) on the First Team, while junior Sasha Wozniak (Spring-Ford) and sophomore Emma Rodner-Tims (Bishop Shanahan) earned Second Team accolades.

Sophomore Liz Hoeffner and seniors Allie Vallen (Maple Shade-NJ) and Megan Barlow (Academy Park) received honorable mention, while senor Lisa Saraceni was name to the CSAC Sportsmanship Team.

Neary has led the Cavaliers to a 14-3 overall record, including a 9-0 mark in conference play and the top seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament, with two of the team’s three losses coming by two goals.

The Blue and White boast one of the nation’s top offenses, as its 14.88 goals per game rank 19th in Division III. The team also ranks in the country’s top 25 in win percentage (#18-.824), caused turnovers per game (#9-13.65), draw controls per game (#23-14.82) and ground balls per game (#24-24.71).

Murphy led the Cavaliers with 77 points on 59 goals and 18 assists and 79 draw controls. The sophomore tallied at least five points nine times, including six point outings against Haverford, Immaculata and Rowan.

Murphy was at her best against top competition, recording 25 points on 18 goals and seven assists and 26 draw controls against the five other teams who have qualified for the CSAC Tournament.

This is the fourth All-CSAC honor for Breuning, one of the best two-way players in the conference. Offensively, the senior posted 33 points on 21 goals and 12 assists, recording at least one point in 15 of 17 games. Defensively, Breuning led the Cavaliers with 51 ground balls, while her 39 draw controls and 28 caused turnovers ranked second.

Neary, a two-time All-CSAC performer, led the Blue and White with 30 caused turnovers to go with 31 draw controls and 31 points. The junior paired six caused turnovers and five ground balls against Rowan and one day later outdid herself with eight caused turnovers and six ground balls at Keystone.

Lee earned her first All-CSAC honor after moving to a more defensive role this season. The junior forced 18 turnovers, recording at least one in 10 games, including three against Marywood and two against No. 1 TCNJ and Rowan. Lee also scooped 24 ground balls, including four against regionally-ranked Capital.
