Allentown Central Catholic scored three straight goals to open the fourth period and defeated host Parkland, 13-12, Monday night in the East Penn Conference championship at Northampton for its first .
The Vikings (19-1) had never won a league title before; although they have won two District 11 crowns (2011-12).
Luke Summers scored with 8.8 seconds left in the third quarter to give Parkland an 11-10 advantage headed into the final period. But the Vikings tallied the next three goals and goalie Larry Keba (11 saves) made a key stop in the final 20 seconds to preserve the win.
Joe Wolf, the EPC Most Valuable Player, finished with two goals and six assists while Dan Glemser added three goals for the Vikings. Matthew Marker and Justin Pasquale each had two goals and an assist for ACC.
Luke Summers, James Cipolla and Gavin Saylor each scored three goals for Parkland.
ACC dealt Parkland (18-2) its only two defeats this season. They will not meet again since Parkland is in Class AAA and the Vikings are in AA.
