Tryouts for the Dukes Lacrosse Club Young Guns and Middle School program will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9 at The Shipley School.
The Dukes Young Guns mission is to seek to maximize every player’s potential both on and off the field. While many programs claim to do so, the Dukes program has had more than its share of success stories.
When you are picked to join the Dukes family you are gaining access to resources that few players or parents have. Dukes Young Guns have have assembled a staff that not only has played/coached at the highest level but is passionate about what it does. Furthermore, since the coached have all played for the club, they know exactly what it means to be part of this special program.
For example, Coach Rob Forster, who runs the program and was a Phillylacrosse.com Honorable Mention Coach of the Year at three-time Friends Schools League champion Academy of the New Church, has transformed his HS program into a league champion and state contender. In addition, Coach Tucker Durkin recently led Bryn Athyn College to its first ever playoff appearance in his first year. Durkin also is an All-MLL pro player and an All-World member of Team USA.
Dukes directors firmly believe the program’s innovative approach and skill based training will maximize every player’s potential. As a result, upon joining the program you’ll realize just how special an opportunity it is.
Dukes Young Guns/Middle School Tryouts:
Date: Sunday, Oct. 9
Location: The Shipley School is located at 126 Merion Avenue in Bryn Mawr, PA.
Registration: Walk-up registration for the 2023-2026s will take place from 12pm-1pm, with the 2023s-2026s tryout following from 1pm-2:30pm.
Walk-up registration for the 2021s-2022s will take place from 2pm-3pm and tryouts will be held from 3:30pm-6pm.
Cost: $40/player, made out to Dukes Lacrosse Club.
Please note that players previously selected to the club will be required to attend the tryout, which will effectively act as a skill session. Additionally, it allows for the coaches to more accurately gauge prospective players’ abilities.
