Phillylacrosse Boys’ Rankings: @MPFriars keep hold of top spot, @UDcardsLax moves up to No. 4

The Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings:

1. Malvern Prep (3-1) Prev. No. 1: The Friars stay at No. 1 despite suffering their first loss to MIAA power Calvert Hall, 7-6, in overtime. They host No. 8 St. Augustine Prep on Wednesday and then host No. 5 Garnet Valley on Saturday.Boys-Rankings-logo1111-300x166

2. Hun School (1-0) Prev. No. 2: The Raiders handled previously-undefeated Georgetown Prep (MD), 14-8, and host Blair Academy (N.J.), on Saturday.

3. Haverford School (3-2) Prev. No. 3: The Fords host Gilman on Tuesday.

4. Upper Dublin (1-0) Prev. No. 11: The Cardinals opened in style with a 16-4 rout of defending PIAA champion Radnor. They open their Suburban One Freedom season Tuesday vs. Norristown.

5. La Salle (1-0) Prev. No. 4- The Explorers rallied past Conestoga, 6-5, in their opener and play Tuesday at Episcopal Academy.

6. Garnet Valley (1-0) Prev. No. 5: The Jaguars, who opened with a 15-7 win at Hatboro-Horsham, host Avon Grove on Tuesday.

7. Spring-Ford (1-0) Prev. No. 15: The Rams opened some eyes Saturday with a 9-3 win over Avon Grove. They host Springfield-Delco on Tuesday.

8. St. Augustine Prep (0-0) Prev. No. 8: The Hermits open Wednesday at Malvern Prep.

9. Conestoga (0-1) Prev. No. 6:The Pioneers suffered a 6-5 loss to No. 4 La Salle and have two more big games this week, Wednesday vs. Central Bucks East and Friday in the PNC tourney vs. Calvert Hall at Loyola University (MD).

10. Salesianum School (0-1) Prev. No. 9: The Sals, after a 16-9 loss to Midwestern power Culver Academy, face Upstate NY’s Canisius on Tuesday.

11. St. Joseph’s Prep (0-1) Prev. No. 10: The Hawks lost, 8-7, to Georgetown Prep and host Roman Catholic Friday in their Catholic League opener.

12. Bishop Shanahan (0-0) Prev. No. 12: The Eagles open Thursday vs. Radnor.

13. Manheim Township (0-0) Prev. NR The Blue Streaks open Tuesday at Crestwood.

14. Downingtown East (1-0) Prev. NR: The Cougars toppled defending District 1 champ Springfield-Delco, 9-8, in their opener and host No. 15 Strath Haven on Tuesday.

15. Strath Haven (1-0) Prev. NR: The Panthers get a major test Tuesday at No. 14 Downingtown East.
