Central Bucks South 2017 midfielder/attackman Ian Vogt has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Ursinus College.

Ian Vogt profile:

Ian Vogt

High School: Central Bucks South

Graduation Year: 2017

Position: Midfield / Attack

College Choice: Ursinus College

Club Affiliation: Phillie Elite 2017

Major lacrosse honors: Suburban One League Honorable Mention 2016, Inside Lacrosse All-Star 2016, NSCLA All-Star 2016, SOL Continental Conference Championship 2015, SEPYLA A1 Championship 2012, SEPYLA All-Star 2012

What will you major in/study? Biochemistry/Economics

Why did you choose this school? “From my first conversation with Coach (Dave) Page I got excited about Ursinus. Then, after my first visit, touring the campus and meeting with Coach (Jamie) Steele, Coach Page and Coach (Logan) Duffie, I knew that this was the place for me. The combination of rigorous academics and being a part of a lacrosse team that can contend for a National Championship make it the perfect fit.”

Outlook for 2017 HS season? “After winning the Conference Championship in 2015, missing the playoffs in 2016 was a disappointment. We are a young team with some key returning starters so I think if we work hard as a team, we have a shot at returning to the playoffs.”

People to thank: “It all started for me in the CBAA organization. Great coaching from dedicated coaches like Anthony Ventresca, Jim Mithoefer, Ed Connors, Dan Brown and others taught me the game and made me the player I am today. A special thank you to Jeff Circuit who taught me to love the game and inspired me to grow as a player.

“My coaches at Phillie Elite (Ryan White, Rob Day, JP Banks and OMB). Thank you to Rob Day who has always answered my questions and helped me throughout the recruiting process.

“All of my friends and teammates throughout the years who have pushed me at each and every practice.

“And, finally to my parents and sister, Masyn, for supporting me and pushing me to be the best lacrosse player and person that I can be.”

Maplezone Sports Institute, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com boys’ recruits, congratulates Ian Vogt. MSI is located on Conchester Highway (Rt. 322) in Garnet Valley, offering Offering private, group, and team training.
