Avon Grove 2018 midfielder Scooter Whiteside has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Monmouth University.

Academic honors, service projects: Wounded Warrior Project Fundraiser, Distinguished Honor Roll

What will you major in/study? Undeclared

Why did you choose this school? “Monmouth has a great campus and facilities. I really liked the coaches and feel it will be a good fit both athletically and academically.”

Outlook for 2017 HS season? “We lost some great seniors from last year, but still have many good players. We should compete for a district and state championship.”

People to thank: “I would like to thank all my youth coaches (Coach Smith, Coach Hammond and Coach Jones) for teaching me the right way to play the game. I would like to thank Coach Bob Miller of Freedom Lacrosse for keeping the game fun and helping me through the recruiting process. I would also like to thank my high school coaches (Coach Jackson, Coach Wallace and Coach Deckelbaum) for teaching me the technical aspects of the game.”
