Wilson 2018 midfield/attack Julia Strobel has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.

Major lacrosse honors: 2016 U.S. Women’s National Tournament Team-Central Pa, 2016 Berks County 1st team All-County

Academic honors: High Honor Roll, Cum Laude, National Honor Society

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose this school? “I chose Saint Joseph’s because of its great academics, athletics, location and beautiful campus. Coach (Alex) Kahoe, Coach (Colleen) Dawson and Coach (Becky) Lynch made me feel comfortable right away and they are so dedicated to the team and I love what they are doing with the program. Also, I could feel the team is so close, they work hard, and have so much fun together. Saint Joseph’s is the perfect fit for me!”

Outlook for 2017 HS season? “We have a strong, close team with great talent and hope to have another great season and compete for the district title and go into state playoffs this year.”

People to thank: “I would first like to thank my parents, brother, and sister for being my biggest fans and for their love, support and encouragement.

“I would also like to thank my club coaches, Kevin McBride and Mark Pinkerton, for helping me through the recruiting process, and helping me to take my lacrosse skills to the next level.

“I would like to thank my high school coaches, John Spleen, Pat Howard, and Sarah Maier, for helping me realize my potential and for pushing my teammates and I to do our best. I would also like to thank my high school field hockey coach, Kim Underwood, for her support and always motivating me to better myself on and off the field.
