From Press Release
The Moravian College men’s lacrosse team has selected seniors Dave Fiumara and Pat Moscatello as the team’s 2016 captains. Lacrosse is making its return to Moravian as a varsity sport this season following a five-year break in action.
Head Coach Dave Carty had high praise for both Fiumara and Moscatello about their skill and leadership skills. “Dave is a hard working player that led the club team last year,” stated Carty. “He did an amazing job with recruiting and hosted 90% our new players. He understands what makes a good leader and will be asset on the field. As for Pat, he isn’t your typical captain. He’s new to lacrosse but he is an exceptional leader. He understands the commitment to the team and is the player guys look to when they need inspiration.”
Fiumara, a midfielder, had this to say about being chosen as captain for the 2016 season, “Being a senior captain for the team’s first season back is amazing. I was a part of the club team for a few years and to finally see it evolve back into a varsity team is awesome.”
“The team has a lot of talent. Coach Carty has done a tremendous job recruiting players to put us in the best possible position to succeed as a first-year team. Playing with these guys during fall ball has been a lot of fun and I’m really looking forward to the spring season.
“What you can certainly expect from this season is a very competitive team.”
