From Press Release

Dickinson senior captain Moira Mahoney (Radnor) received another well-deserved honor, being named to the IWLCA All-America Women’s Lacrosse team. Mahoney is the first Red Devil to earn All-America honors since Ana Sokol ’09 in 2008 and 2009.

Mahoney garnered Third-team honors on the All-America team and made her third appearance on the All-Region team this spring. She earned First-team recognition for the past two seasons and Second-team honors in 2014. Mahoney was a four-year starter and was named First-team All-Centennial Conference for the past three seasons.

A pure defender, Mahoney proved to be one of the best in program history. She became just the second Red Devil to record over 100 caused turnovers, ranking second on the all-time list with 111. She ranked fourth in draw controls with 153 and seventh with 167 career ground balls.

Mahoney caused a career and conference-best 43 turnovers this season, adding 44 draws and 42 ground balls. She ranked fourth in the CC in GBs and was also in the top 10 for draw controls at the end of the regular season.

As a team, the Red Devils ranked second in the conference in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers during the regular season as well. They earned the number five seed in the conference playoffs and advanced to the semifinals with an 11-6, opening round win over #4-seed Haverford College.

Dickinson finished the season 10-8 overall after putting a scare into #4-nationally ranked Franklin & Marshall in the semifinals.
