The Patriots – who won an overtime game over Academy of Notre Dame on Thursday – closed their regular season at 15-3. They are ranked No. 11 by Phillylacrosse.com. The No. 3 Owls, currently in first place in the Inter-Ac League, fell to 15-4.

Murphy scored on only six shots and also had six draw controls. She also had the game-tying goal.

“All her goals were assisted,” said Carroll coach Lorraine Beers. “It was a really good team effort. We are seeing multiple girls contributing to our wins.”

Megh Matey had three goals and Sammy Swart added two goals while Rachel Matey and Grace Gallagher each had a goal and an assist. Katie Detwiler was an all-around standout with seven assists and four draw controls and goalie Maddie Ferriaoli had seven saves.

Carroll is the No. 1 seed in the Catholic League playoffs and will get a bye into the semifinals on Thursday. Agnes Irwin can clinch the Inter-Ac championships with wins Tuesday over Penn Charter and Wednesday over Baldwin.
