STEPS Philadelphia girls’ HS roundup: Friends’ Central, S-F, SV, Agnes Irwin, GV, Souderton win

Sophie Macfarlane (two goals, two caused turnovers) scored the go ahead goal with 6:26 to play to lift host Friends’ Central to an 8-7 win over Penn Charter Thursday in non-league girls’ lacrosse.

Hannah Posencheg forced a key turnover in the final minutes and FCS held possession for the remaining four minutes of the game.
Steps-Philly-copy1Jesse Rubin added two goals, two caused turnovers and two draws for the Phoenix.

Avery Shoemaker had three goals, an assist, three groundballs and two draws for the Quakers.

Spring-Ford 13, Henderson 12

Camryn Jones collected four goals and an assist and Courtney Veisbergs scored four goals to pace the Rams to a non-league win.

Ryann Bauer had five goals and an assist for Henderson.

Sun Valley 12, West Chester East 9

Carson Adelberger had four goals and an assist and Kait France stood out in goal to lead the Vanguards.

Holly Hager had three goals and two assists to lead WCE.

Great Valley 14, Downingtown West 4

Olivia Muscella had five goals, one assist and 10 draw controls while Ashlyn Smith contributed five goals and two assists for the undefeated Patriots.

Emma Cooper had two goals for Downingtown West.

Agnes Irwin 14, Springside School 2

Hannah Keating had five goals and an assist, Laura Pansini added three goals and two assists and Kristin Burnett had eight draw controls and four assists to lead undefeated Agnes Irwin (7-0).

Elisa Rall posted 17 saves for Springside.

Souderton 12, Plymouth Whitemarsh 5

Amber Lambeth pumped in six goals to lead the Indians.

Ali Diamond led PW with three goals.
