Agnes Irwin Owls
League: Inter-Ac
Head Coach: Jenny Duckenfield, 3rd season (35-11). Owls won first Inter-Ac title since 2006 and a school record 22 wins. School had two first First Team All Americans: Hannah Keating and Bridget Chakey and first-ever US Lacrosse U19 National Team player, Sarah Platt.
2014 Record and Playoff Result: Despite losing key players to injuries the Owls managed a 22-2, 11-1 Inter-Ac, Inter-Ac Co-Champions, Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association State Finalist
Key Returnees: junior attack Hannah Keating (Harvard), junior midfielders Laura Pansini (Princeton), Emily Fryer (Brown), and Kristin Burnetta (Harvard), junior defenders Kate White (Dartmouth) and Sarah Platt (Vanderbilt), sophomore attack Lila Barker (University of Virginia), sophomore goalie Hailey Andress (Cornell) Freshman All Inter-Ac defender Maria Pansini.
Junior attack Hannah Keating (First Team All Inter-Ac, All Delco, and 2014 First Team All American) set the Agnes Irwin career scoring record (189) in 2014, recording 112 goals in her sophomore season.
AIS defender and junior captain Sarah Platt is a current member of the US Lacrosse U19 team and will represent the United States at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship this summer in Edinburgh, Scotland
2015 Lacrosse Season: Agnes Irwin must stay healthy in 2015 with a challenging Inter-Ac slate and the Owl’s will compete against three nationally ranked high school lacrosse programs ranked in the top 25 in the country. 2014 Florida State Champion Vero Beach High School, Florida State Champion runner up Ponte Verde High School, defending PIAA State Champion Garnet Valley, Hauppauge High School (Long Island, NY), Central Pa. powerhouse Manheim Township and the defending New Jersey State Champions, #2 nationally ranked Moorestown High School.
Coach’s outlook: “We are coming into our junior season together as a team and our goal is to be confident, humble and hardworking, by raising the level of our play and competing against nationally ranked teams. This season is about trust and teamwork.”

Coach’s Outlook for 2015: “We have an extremely talented and experienced group of juniors and seniors returning this season. In addition, the underclassmen bring an enormous amount of speed and club experience that will round out our starting line-up. This group is incredibly hard working and hungry for success. They will be ready for the challenges presented by the teams in our very competitive league and I look forward to seeing their hard work pay off.”
