This is one of a series of previews for the 2015 Philly lacrosse season

George School

League: Friends School League

Head Coach: Kyle Sanphy, year 1PL-Boys-HS-previews11

Last year’s record: 7-5, (lost in first round to league champion ANC, finished 4th overall)

Key returnees:
John Arth, SEN-MID
Asa Cadwallader, SEN-ATT
Peter Cho, SEN-G
Freesoul El Shabazz-Thompson, SEN-MID
Danny Friedenberg, SEN-MID
Max Klaver, SEN-ATT
Jake Malavsky, SEN-DEF
Jake Seiler, SEN-ATT

Outlook for 2015 season: “The cougars look to build on a strong 2014 campaign. Although graduating most of the starting defense, the team returns 9 of its 13 short sticks from last year. The team will rely on a strong core of Seniors, who possess a considerable amount of experience with the game. George School opens the season with a stretch of tough match-ups that will set the tone for the rest of the way.”

Allentown Central Catholic HS

League: Eastern PA Conference (EPC)

Head Coach: Dan Dolphin, 8th season

Last year’s record: 10-8, 4th in the league

Key returnees:
Attack- Rob Fidati, Joe Wolf (Cornell)
Midfield- Gavin Barr, AJ Cioffi, Colton Thew
Defense- Parker Robb, Quinn Redding
Goalie- John Alvarez (Princeton), MacLean Lincoln

Outlook for 2015 season: “We graduated three D-1 and three D-3 players, losing 125 goals in the process. We are going to be a young team this year with four talented Freshmen seeing significant playing time.

“Our defense and goalies will have to play at a high level until our offense begins to produce. Seniors Gavin Barr, AJ Cioffi, Rob Fidati, Parker Robb, and soph Joe Wolf are players to watch.”
