What will you major in/study? Political Science
Why did you choose VMI? “I chose VMI because of its outstanding reputation. I wanted to challenge myself academically, as well as physically.
“From the beginning of high school, it has been my primary goal to serve in the United States Army. Knowing that I have this opportunity upon graduation from VMI is both humbling as well as a huge honor to me. After meeting Coach (Brian) Anken and Coach (Bobbby) Downes during my visit and seeing the school, I knew right away that VMI is where I wanted to spend my college years as well as be a part of their lacrosse family.”
Outlook for your High School season? “After losing a very strong senior class last year and a lot of leaders, we hope to come back strong again this upcoming season. We have a very tough schedule with a lot of great opponents. We just want to focus on one game at a time and take it week by week.”
Thank You: “I want to first thank the entire Bishop Shanahan Lacrosse coaching staff: Jon Heisman, Paul Meyers, Eric Carruthers, Chris Saggese, Kevin Goforth, and Bob Seefeldt. Thank you for believing in me, teaching me something new about the game of lacrosse every day, and going out of your way to assist me in the college recruitment process. Coach Meyers thank you for all the effort you put into me between recruitment and making me a better player. All you have done for me with lacrosse means so much.
“I would like to especially thank the Philadelphia Freedom Lacrosse Club coaching staff: Coach (Kevin) Goforth, Coach (Matt) Marascio, and Coach (John) Hoffman. I deeply appreciate the amount of time and work you put into me and my recruiting, and the amount of times you dropped what you were doing to help me. I can honestly say I would not have had the opportunity to play lacrosse at VMI, or even college lacrosse, if it was not for your efforts.
“I want to thank all my youth lacrosse coaches at West Chester, especially Mike McGuane for teaching me the game.
“I would also like to thank all my teammates at Shanahan. You guys make me better every day at practice and always push me to work harder and be better. I’m proud to be a part of this team.
“Special thank you to my good friend Drew Vandevere who pushed me to play lacrosse my freshman year.
“Lastly, and most importantly, I’d like to thank my mom, dad, and two sisters for all their love and support over the years. I’d like to especially thank my role model, my dad, for making me the young man that I am today. I don’t know what I would do without you always pushing me to be a better person and harder worker. Thank you for everything.”
