From Press Release
Seniors Brendan Dunlap, Mac Gallagher (Shipley School) and Morgan Westby (Episcopal Academy) were announced as 2016 men’s lacrosse team captains, head coach Jim Rogalski announced on Wednesday.
“I am pleased to announce these three as the captains for our 2016 team,” Rogalski said. “Brendan, Mac and Morgan are true leaders on and off the field and excellent ambassadors for the College and our program, current and future.”
Dunlap has appeared in all 40 games over the last three years for the Maroon and White in the midfield. A Winfield, Ill. native, he tallied a goal and an assist in his junior campaign to go along with nine ground balls and six caused turnovers. His career highlight came during his sophomore season when he scored a pair of goals against top-ranked Loyola.
Gallagher, hailing from Ardmore, Pa., has also never missed a game for the Leopards throughout his time on College Hill. He has started 16 of those 40 games in the midfield for Lafayette and scored four goals a year ago, while picking up 13 ground balls.
Finally, Westby has appeared in 39 games with 28 starts during his career in Easton. Playing in the midfield, he was fourth on the team in scoring last season with 14 goals, adding three assists for 17 points. A native of Villanova, Pa., Westby recorded a pair of hat tricks during his junior season with three goals against Loyola on March 21 and another trio against Holy Cross on April 4. Additionally, Westby’s 3.60 grade-point average during the spring semester earned him Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status.
Dunlap, Gallagher, Westby and the rest of the 2016 Leopards will look to improve upon a 4-10 record this spring.
