St. Augustine Prep (N.J.) 2017 LSM/defenseman Bryce Vaxman has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Bellarmine University.

Bryce Vaxman ledger:

Bryce Vaxman
Bryce Vaxman

High School: St. Augustine Prep, N.J.

Graduation year: 2017

Position; LSM, defenseman

College Choice:
Bellarmine University

Club Affiliation: South Shore

Lacrosse Honors: Landon East Coast Fall Showcase, Blue Chip Rising Freshman

Academic Honors:
Dean’s list (90 or higher average)

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Bellarmine? “I love the campus and the atmosphere around it and I love how lacrosse is the main sport on the campus. I love coach (Kevin) Burns and coach (Kevin) McKeown and the idea they have of a strong defense. I like how every coach, including coach (Jay) Sothoron, has a defensive background and I like the school of business. I am interested in getting my master’s in their 5-year program.”

Outlook for the HS season: “We look strong and have a lot of upperclassmen. We have strong goalies and a lot of returning defenders and midfielders and we are strong at attack. We have the experience from last year and years prior.”

Thank You: “I’d like to thank my 8th grade coaches, coach Paul Braumgart, and Rob Scheffler, for getting a D-pole in my hands as a younger kid and for teaching me the basics of defensive lacrosse. I also would like to thank coach (J.C) Valore for helping me through the recruiting process and helping me find the right school and teaching me how to become a better player on and off the field. I would like to thank my parents just for being support factors in my life and being at every game and every tournament and for going on all the visits with me.”

Other schools considered: Hofstra, St Joseph’s
