Rising Sons 2021 won its third championship of the summer last weekend by defeating the Baltimore Crabs, 10-4, in the finals the Meltdown at Abington High.
The Rising Sons team headed into the Abington Meltdown coming off Championships at Beach Lax and Laxapalooza; and it did not disappoint.
After going 4-0 in pool play, scoring 45 goals and surrendering just 6, the Sons advanced as the No. 1 seed to the Final 4. In semi-final action the Sons took took care of Rock Em Rebels, which set up the grudge match with the Crabs.
The Crabs are one of, if not the best, 2021 team in Maryland and the Sons had played them twice in Ocean City just two weeks ago, splitting the two games but taking the Championship. In a high intensity setting, the Sons played their best game to date. After falling behind 1-0 there was no looking back as the team went up 7-2 and then finalized the Championship with the 10-4 final. The boys worked hard and played great. Now it is off to Crabfest to face some of the top 2021 teams in the nation, potentially against Crabs again.
